Federal Legislation Introduced to #SaveGirlsSports

(Family Policy Alliance) The nationwide movement to #SaveGirlsSports has never been stronger, and today there’s a big development.

The bill would make it a violation of Title IX for these schools to allow biologically male students who identify as female to play in girls’ sports. Title IX is the federal law that protects equal educational opportunities – including school athletic opportunities – for girls.

This common sense and scientifically sound legislation would follow in the footsteps of the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act, the groundbreaking Idaho law passed this year with the help of Family Policy Alliance of Idaho and the thousands of you who emailed and called to make your voice heard.  (Read More)

Americans Against Unconstitutional Mask Mandates

(Creators.com) Good news: The anti-mask mandate movement is gaining steam. Americans yearning to breathe free are waking up from their pandemic stupor. Common sense and constitutional principles, now more than ever, are vital to a sovereign nation’s health.

On Monday, a federal judge rescinded Democratic Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf’s shutdown orders restricting gatherings, forcing “nonessential” business closures and directing citizens to stay at home to combat COVID-19. U.S. District Judge William Stickman determined that the sweeping measures violated “the right of assembly enshrined in the First Amendment.”  (Read More)

Trump to Sign ‘Born Alive’ Executive Order to Protect Abortion Survivors

(Daily Signal) President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he will sign an executive order to ensure that babies who are born alive receive proper medical care.

Although the president didn’t go into detail about what the order would do, proposals earlier this year in the House and Senate would require health care professionals to treat a baby born alive after an attempted abortion the same as medical professionals would treat any other newborn.

“I will always defend the sacred right to life,” Trump said in remarks at the 16th annual National Catholic Prayer Breakfast, held virtually this year.   (Read More)

Will Idaho policymakers continue to empower students?

(Idaho Freedom Foundation) Gov. Brad Little recently announced a small grant program to give parents and students more education options during COVID-19. However, less than 10% of Idaho K-12 students will be eligible to receive funds. This will not be enough to support all Idaho parents who are trying to give students an education that best fits their needs.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, parents have lost patience with public schools’ failure to open and poor virtual learning environments. One Idaho mother reported being in “survival mode.” Now, parents are experimenting with new solutions that best fit their children’s education needs. For instance, parents have begun coordinating with each other to form micro-schools or “pandemic pods.”  (Read More)

Pastor facing jail laughs at plea to keep doors closed

(OneNewsNow) Andy Stanley, the prominent Atlanta-based pastor, is telling churches not to come together on Sunday mornings while, across the country, a California pastor is vowing to go to jail to keep the doors open.

Back in July, Stanley announced that his North Point group of churches were done for the year due to the spread of COVID-19. More recently, he explained his thinking in a Q-and-A video chat with Liberty University students. Christ’s command to love one another as He loved the us, Stanley said, means the pastor and his church must sacrifice gathering together for the good of the community.

That observation amused Pastor John MacArthur, who is fighting local and state government to keep the lights on at Grace Community Church, even if it means a jail cell for defying a judge.  (Read More)

Education to Form a More Perfect Union

(FRC) Perhaps the only silver lining to public schools going virtual out of an irrational fear of the coronavirus is that many parents are finally taking a closer look at what their children are learning. And it’s not pretty. Mary Hasson, an attorney, education expert, and fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, said in an interview on Washington Watch that parents “are realizing their kids have embraced this view of America as a toxic country, a place that’s ‘fundamentally unjust.'”

Materials that supplement curricula are coming “almost exclusively from progressive organizations.”  The Southern Poverty Law Center’s Teaching Tolerance, Planned Parenthood’s radical sex education, and the 1619 project — that’s what kids are being taught in classrooms and much of it paid for by taxpayers. At the same time, children are not learning American history.  (Read More)

A More Perfect Union

(Madison Liberty) “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union…”

In the preamble, or the reason for its existence, the founders stated that the Constitution was designed and intended to form “a more perfect Union.”

What is the meaning of the word “Union” in this first phrase of the preamble?

How is the Union so formed “more perfect”?

With it as our guide, can we yet bring about an even “more perfect Union”?  (Read More)

Keeping Kids From Seeing Smut Will Take A Lot More Than Canceling Netflix

(The Federalist) A massive outcry over indecent content, demands for a legal investigation, calls for boycotts, countless op-eds bemoaning the decline of American morals — no, I’m not talking about the current backlash against the Netflix movie “Cuties.” I am referring to Janet Jackson’s bare breast during the Super Bowl halftime show back in 2004. It was and still is one of the most controversial events in television history.

At the time, I found it strange that the backlash focused exclusively on that breast. The entire halftime show consisted of sexually explicit lyrics and dance moves.  (Read More)

Abortions Increasing More in Blue States as Democrats Kill More Babies in Abortion

(LifeNews) Today Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI), the research arm of the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List), published a new report on emerging abortion trends in the United States.

Ahead of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as the Guttmacher Institute, CLI has the first analysis of trends revealed by the latest available state abortion reports from calendar year 2018. Key findings include:

  • In the 38 states where data is available, abortions increased by nearly two percent from the previous year.
  • The increase in abortion can be largely attributed to the surge in chemical abortion nationwide.  (Read More)

Why Forgetting the Holocaust is Disastrous

(Breakpoint) Millions of religious and ethnic minorities—men, women, and children—herded on to trains, hauled away to concentration camps for “reeducation,” used for slave labor, their heads shaved and hair used for products sold to support the government. Women forcibly sterilized, babies forcibly aborted. All of this sounds familiar doesn’t it?

It should, but according to a survey released last week, it likely will not. A significant number of U.S. adults under 40 lack “basic” knowledge of the Holocaust, which left 6 million Jews dead during World War II, as well as millions of members of other ethnic and social groups.  (Read More)

Critical Race Theory Starting in Kindergarten Will Shred Our Social Fabric—and It’s Already Here

(PJ Media) If we are going to have a Department of Education, it is time for it to set some standards that ensure our social fabric is not completely shredded. The proliferation of critical race theory in our schools following the New York Times’ “1619 Project” needs to be stopped. If the DOE can’t return public education to an institution that builds knowledge and skills that will benefit a growing, technical economy, it’s worthless.

The simple fact is, we don’t have enough domestic students going into the required fields to quickly and efficiently decouple from China or remain a leader in innovation. For industries that require significant levels of technical talent, it just isn’t there.

Victor Davis Hanson, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, explains that America is facing a severe skills gap. We need to stop producing activists and start building skills.  (Read More)

The Domino Effect of Worldview

(FRC) New research from George Barna indicates that the percentage of Americans who hold a biblical worldview has declined yet again. Despite this decline, the outcome of the upcoming presidential election could very well be decided by evangelical Christians’ level of participation.

FRC’s new Senior Research Fellow for Christian Ethics and Biblical Worldview, George Barna, found in his most recent study from the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University that only six percent of Americans hold a biblical worldview (i.e., a view of the world that is informed by Scripture). Earlier this week, George joined Tony Perkins on “Washington Watch”to discuss his findings and what they reveal about the 2020 election.

According to Barna, a worldview is the “filter through which you look at all experiences and information and decide how you’re going to respond.” Because worldview consists of a person’s most fundamental assumptions and beliefs about truth, it is central to how humans experience the world and interact with one another in society. As Barna explained, “People do what they believe.” The same holds true for how we engage politically.  (Read More)

Has the Second American Civil War Already Started?

(PJ Media) Is America about to face its second civil war? The Portland antifa ally suspected of shooting a Trump supporter said a civil war was “right around the corner.” Former Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta war-gamed the 2020 election and suggested that Joe Biden may cry foul if he loses, starting off a chain reaction resulting in secession and a civil war. Far-left groups recently came together to prepare for a civil war.

While many fear a civil war may be in America’s near future, in some senses, the civil war may have already begun. When South Carolina seceded from the Union in 1861 and officially kicked off the Civil War, Americans had already been fighting one another for years. The decade of the 1850s has a great deal to teach modern Americans about how a civil war happens.  (Read More)

New York Teacher’s Assignment Compares Police to KKK, Slave Owners

(Daily Signal) On the first day of classes, a high school teacher in Westchester County issued an assignment that included a comic style strip comparing police officers to slave owners and Ku Klux Klan members, the New York Post reported.

The assignment was part of a chapter on “European Colonization of America,” given by Westlake High School teacher Christopher Moreno to 11th-graders on Sept. 8, the Post reported.

The image depicted five versions of the same illustration that depicted one man kneeling on another’s neck, according to a picture of the assignment obtained by the Post. Types of men shown kneeling included a slaver, a KKK member, and a police officer.  (Read More)

The Persecution of the Church — California Style

(FRC) In the not too distant past, it would have been difficult to imagine a scenario in the United States where government officials would have the temerity to threaten churches for holding indoor worship services. However, as the coronavirus pandemic abates, and the nation returns to work, certain states and cities continue to reveal a startling level of bias against churches. Nowhere has this mistreatment been more flagrant than in California, where Governor Gavin Newsom continues to hold churches to unfair and impossible standards. But liberal politicians no longer want to simply keep churches shut down indefinitely, they are now threatening pastors who defy their orders with arrest and jail time.

But many pastors are refusing to stay silent about California’s ongoing campaign against churches. One such example is Che Ahn, Senior Pastor of Harvest Rock Church who joined Tony Perkins on Washington Watch last Thursday to explain the unfolding situation in Pasadena.  (Read More)

UN Puts Abortionist Who Supports Prostitution in Charge of Protecting Kids From Sex Trafficking

(LifeNews) Pro-life organizations and groups working against sex trafficking are expressing alarm that Tlaleng Mofokeng will use her new role to push a dangerous sexual agenda on children across the world.

Mofokeng is the new special rapporteur on the right to health at the UN, The Church Militant reports. The position has a six-year term.

“[She’s] a doctor groomed by the international sexual and reproductive health establishment to advocate for unfettered sexual autonomy, including legal prostitution, homosexuality, abortion and children’s sexual autonomy,” said Stefano Gennarini, J.D., vice president for the Center for Legal Studies at C-Fam.  (Read More)

Liberal Media Defends “Cuties,” Say Critics of Netflix Show are Just “Afraid of Child Sexuality”

(LifeNews) Several big name publications have decided to go on defense for a Netflix movie that hypersexualizes little girls. And to think, some of us are unsure about calling the media the “enemy of the people.”

Outlets like Rolling Stone, L.A. Times, The Telegraph and The New Yorker defended the film as “worth seeing” and a nice “coming-of-age” story, and condemned critics as crazies from the “right-wing” who are “afraid of child sexuality.” Uhhhhhh. Yeah, it’s that heinous.

In August, news broke that a Netflix movie from France, called Cuties in English, featuring sexualized young girls would debut on the platform in the Fall.  (Read More)

Nancy Pelosi: “Mother Earth Is Angry…”

(Faith & Freedom) Appearing on MSNBC on the eve of 9/11 last week, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi declared that “Mother Earth is angry…” noting that “climate change is real,” blaming those who deny what the Left says about climate change are the real culprits.

California Gov. Newsom says: “The debate is over around climate change”—“I’m angered” that we have to keep talking about it.

Washington Gov. Inslee says the fires in the Northwest shouldn’t be called “wildfires”–they should be called “climate fires.”

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown says the fires are “Truly the bellwether for climate change on the West Coast.”  (Read More)

Self-constructed, Build-a-Bear, Buffet-Style Christianity Is No Christianity at All

(Breakpoint) In a pair of tweets that recently made rounds on social media, a young progressive woman issued her doctrinal creed: “I am a Christian and I believe proselytizing is violence…I am a Christian and I believe LGBTQ+ ppl are divine and should lead us…I am a Christian and I don’t go to church. I am a Christian and I don’t believe the Bible is the word of God.”

While one wonders why someone who already rejects church, evangelism, Christian morality, and Scripture would still want to keep the title Christian, this tweeter is merely a more extreme example of a very common approach to faith, including Christianity.  (Read More)

Burger chains confusing love and perversion

(OneNewsNow) In Finland, where Burger King is running an ad campaign featuring its mascot kissing Ronald McDonald, one conservative activist says the restaurant chain has made another assault on youth and the culture.

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) and The Center for Morality tells OneNewsNow Burger King is promoting sexual deviance in the name of love with its new “Love Conquers All” slogan.

“It’s sad because woke corporations are now in the vanguard of cultural Marxism,” LaBarbera laments. “This stunt by Burger King has nothing to do with selling burgers and fries and everything to do with selling perversion and the left’s sexual agenda.”  (Read More)

You Did It! Trump Administration Stands Strong on Girls’ Sports

(Family Policy Alliance) You made a difference (again)! During June’s #SaveGirlsSports Week, you took action and asked President Trump and Department of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos to reject the Left’s demands to allow biological boys to compete in girls’ sports.  Thousands of you wrote to President Trump and Secretary DeVos with appreciation for their strong stand up to that point and a call to continue leading to ensure women’s sports were not destroyed on the mantel of political correctness.  (Read More)

Don’t believe senators’ excuses

(Idaho Freedom Foundation) Idaho state senators who voted to table a House-passed resolution that would have ended Gov. Brad Little’s Covid emergency have stepped forward with some embarrassingly ridiculous excuses for their cowardice.

My favorite of these is “ending Gov. Little’s emergency order would not change anything.” Well that’s an interesting, and new, observation. This comment made its debut after the Senate vote. As much as it is new, it’s also wrong. Every two weeks since March, the governor has wielded his emergency authority like a hammer. With each drop, the hammer nailed shut vast sections of the Gem State economy or specific enterprises based solely on healthcare data and state government “experts” analysis of the same.

Imagine being a business owner trying to make hiring or capital investment decisions while living under such political conditions.  (Read More)

Reminder, you can always contact your Senators and let them know that you disagree with their decision and are disappointed in their lack of proper representation of the people they serve.

Record Number of Pro-Life Women Run for Congress

(LifeNews) For decades, the pro-abortion movement and their allies in the media have tried to diminish the voices of pro-life women. While pro-life women were running for office, leading pro-life organizations, establishing pregnancy care centers, sharing their experiences after abortion, organizing marches, lobbying lawmakers, and more, pro-abortion forces minimized their accomplishments and characterized the entire pro-life movement as “just old white men.”

In 2020, that false narrative is going to be a lot harder to push.

A record number of pro-life women are running for office in 2020. In the important battle for the Senate majority, there are 6 pro-life women running…  (Read More)

Progressives: “Good For Thee, But Not For Me”

(Faith & Freedom) Joe Biden tweeted Sunday: “We need to restore honor and decency to the White House.”

That followed a tweet on Saturday that instructed Trump to quit playing golf, get back to work and “control the spread of the virus.”

That caught my attention for a couple of reasons.

Can we get real about all this? Why is so much of the Left’s moralizing “good for thee, but not for me?”

Here’s why.  (Read More)

The Election Started Today. Here Are Five Things to Remember.

(FRC) While the campaigns are, in many ways, still getting warmed up, the 2020 election officially started today when North Carolina became the first state to mail ballots to voters. The early start date is yet another reminder that mail will be one of the biggest storylines in the 2020 election. Will people receive their ballots? Can voters depend on the mail system to return their ballots?

While we should make the integrity of our election a point of prayer, here are five additional things to be thinking and praying about as we get closer to November 3rd.  (Read More)
