Ruled By Thornbushes

(Idaho Family Policy Center) The Old Testament prophet Gideon led the Israelites in victory over their enemies, providing God’s people with four decades of peace and prosperity.

But when Gideon died in his old age, one of his sons, Abimelech, hatched a scheme to seize control of the nation. Abimelech conspired with the men of Shechem to assassinate his seventy brothers so he could usurp the throne and exercise tyranny over the people.

Only one of the brothers, whose name was Jotham, evaded the attempted fratricide. Jotham later offered the following fable, often called the Parable of the Thornbush, condemning his countrymen for their inaction which enabled the bloody coup d’etat…

Jotham’s fable explains what happens when God-fearing people are so busy with their own lives that they neglect their responsibility to provide prophetic leadership in politics and culture. Because the righteous trees failed to enter the fray and get involved, a thornbush takes control, even though the thornbush can’t provide the conditions, like shade, that will allow the forest to flourish.  (Read More)

100,000 Pro-Life Americans March for Life, Look Forward to Overturning Roe and Ending Abortion

(Life News) As many as 100,000 or more pro-life Americans marched in the bitter cold Friday in Washington, D.C., hoping and praying that states soon will be allowed to protect unborn babies again.

The 2022 March for Life had a strong spirit of hope as the U.S. Supreme Court considers overturning Roe v. Wade through a Mississippi case that it heard in December.

Roe is not settled law,” March for Life president Jeanne Mancini reminded the crowd during the rally that preceded the march.

Mancini and others urged the court to recognize that one of America’s most fundamental values, equality, must be applied to all human beings, including babies in the womb.

Because of Roe, states are forced to legalize abortion on demand up to viability and allowed to legalize abortion without limits up to birth. The 1973 ruling led to the deaths of more than 63 million unborn babies in abortions and hundreds, perhaps thousands, of mothers.  (Read More)

Why the Masked and the Unmasked Have Disdain for Each Other

(Dennis Prager) Among the many unbridgeable divides between Americans is a completely antithetical view of mask wearing. On one side are those who wear masks almost everywhere outside their homes and who demand that others do so, including young children in class and on outdoor playgrounds, and 2-year-olds on airplanes.

On the other side are those who only wear a mask where they are punished for not doing so (most obviously, airplanes). They regard masks as essentially pacifiers for adults.

Generally speaking, these two groups have disdain for each other.

Why the pro-mask half of America holds the anti-mask half in contempt needs little explanation. They believe anti-mask Americans are putting others in grave danger. Pro-maskers believe that even children who do not wear masks put their own lives and the lives of other children and teachers at risk.

Consequently, pro-mask Americans regard those who do not wear masks, let alone those who actively oppose mask-wearing, as selfish, anti-science potential killers.  (Read More)

Why Accepting Child Transgenderism Will Pave The Way For Accepting Pedophilia

(The Federalist) The last several years can be viewed as a testament to the remarkable strategic power the woke left wields. The speed at which absurd ideas have been thrust into the limelight by vested media and a wide array of well-financed academics and non-profits is both startling and impressive.

Not long ago, it would’ve been unimaginable that a seven-year-old boy’s innocent preference for Polly Pockets over Power Rangers would find its tragic end in puberty blockers, chemical castration, and 15 minutes of fame on Snapchat’s explore page.

Calling this abuse doesn’t encapsulate the full extent of the damage. It is a culturally bolstered, politically incentivized mass grooming campaign with a disturbing history. Even worse, this all may be eclipsed by a much darker future should it continue unabated.  (Read More)

Abolish Parenthood? No, Family Trumps ‘Equity’

(Creators) “California should abolish parenthood, in the name of equity.” That’s the headline of a Ventura County Star column by Zocalo Public Square’s Joe Mathews. “Want true equity?” the San Francisco Chronicle headlined the same column three days later. “California should force parents to give away their children.”

The column’s thesis was not mischaracterized by either headline writer. (It’s a longstanding practice in journalism that reporters and columnists don’t write headlines. Nonjournalists find this bizarre, but that’s the way it has always been.) Mathews points out that advantaged parents pass on their advantages to their children.

The “solution,” he says, is “making raising your own children illegal.” Or “universal orphanhood,” as he writes a few paragraphs down. “Handovers of babies” would be mandatory. In support, he cites the Greek philosopher Plato (children should be “possessed in common”) and California Gov. Gavin Newsom (policy should be formulated through “an equity lens”).  (Read More)

Are NIH Hospital Protocols more important than Life Itself?

(Gem State Patriot) I was out of the state when I received a call from my nephew telling me my sister would be life flighted to St. Al’s in Boise, from Weiser. She had been diagnosed with Covid several days earlier and was on a small amount of oxygen at home. Fearing my sister would die in St. Al’s, I told my nephew I would be on the next plane home. I told him to call the hospital and tell them under no circumstances was she to be intubated or given Remdesivir. Hospitals are heavily incentivized to receive 20% bonuses via the Cares Act for putting patients on a ventilator and giving Remdesivir as well as numerous other bonuses to follow all guidelines set up by federal agencies. Remdesivir is well known to cause permanent kidney and liver damage. St. Al’s had required her to sign a DNR and an order that allowed them to put her on a ventilator, before they would send life flight to Weiser to pick her up. The call from my nephew to the hospital was met with irritation and disdain. Once placed on a ventilator my sister would have been paralyzed by the medications and the family feared we would not have been able to rescue her. We believed her chances of survival would be greatly diminished, due to her lack of oxygen and lack of a Medical Advocate.  (Read More)

Finnish Government Puts Christianity On Trial, Calls The Bible ‘Hate Speech’

(The Federalist) Two Christian leaders in Finland stood trial in Helsinki on Jan. 24 for publicly stating the Bible’s teachings on sex and marriage. Longtime Member of Parliament Paivi Rasanen and Lutheran Bishop Juhana Pohjola defended in court their decision to write and publish, respectively, a pamphlet explaining Christian teachings about sex and marriage.

“The prosecutor began the day by trying to explain that this case was not about beliefs and the Bible. She then, and I’m not kidding, she then proceeded to quote Old Testament Bible verses,” Coleman said in a phone interview with The Federalist after the trial concluded for the day. “Trial attorneys, Finnish trial attorneys who have been in and out of court every day for years, said they didn’t think the Bible had ever been read out like that in a prosecution.”

Never before has a Finnish court had to decide whether quoting the Bible is a crime. Human rights observers consider this case an important marker for whether Western governments’ persecution of citizens for their speech and beliefs increases.

The long day in court concluded with the prosecutor cross-examining Pohjola about his theology, Coleman said, “asking his interpretation of the Bible, just straight-up theology.” The prosecutor even asked the bishop, apparently without awareness of the historical import of this question, “Does he follow God’s law or does he follow Finnish law?” Coleman noted with astonishment.  (Read More)

America Must Leave the Dirty Half Dozen Most Pro-Abortion Countries

(Family Research Council) In 1973, a small group of pro-lifers joined a Catholic attorney named Nellie Gray for dinner. Six months prior, the U.S. Supreme Court had issued its infamous Roe v. Wade decision that made abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy the default law of every state. These advocates for the unborn were determined not to let the one-year anniversary of the decision pass without acknowledging it with a march — a protest demanding that Congress (as Nellie put it) “pay attention to 20,000 people coming in the middle of winter to tell them to overturn Roe v. Wade.” And so, the March for Life was born.

Forty-nine years later, those who believe the truth that an unborn child is a human being still march every year. Snow, shine, or freezing cold (like this year), the rabbi has blown his shofar, the students have chanted, and people have come from all across the country to stand for life.  (Read More)

Joe Biden Making Database of Christians Who Object to COVID Vaccine Mandates

(Life News) Republican members of Congress are accusing President Joe Biden of targeting Americans seeking religious exemptions from the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Your administration’s attempt to use the power of the federal government to single out Americans who object to the COVID-19 vaccine on religious grounds is inexcusable and must be withdrawn,” reads the letter, first obtained by The Daily Signal.

The letter to Biden builds on a Jan. 11 report from The Daily Signal that the Biden administration is testing out a policy in a small federal agency, the Pretrial Services Agency for the District of Columbia, that would likely serve as a model for government-assembled lists of Americans who object to the COVID-19 vaccines on religious grounds.  (Read More)

Oregon School Launches LGBT Club For 4th And 5th Graders; No Parent Consent Needed

(Daily Wire) An elementary school in a left-wing Oregon town is now offering a “Queer & Sexuality Alliance” (QSA) club for fourth and fifth-grade students, and parents don’t need to consent before their kids can join, The Daily Wire has learned.

Fourth graders at Raleigh Hills Elementary School, located in Beaverton, were presented with a slideshow in early January unveiling the formation of a QSA club — unbeknownst to parents. The presentation, which says the club will “have conversations about identity, gender, equal rights, and social issues,” “explore LGBTQ+ history and activism,” as well as “advocate for change in our school and community,” was presented by a social worker and a few fifth graders.   (Read More)

The Man Who Invented Sex Ed

(Capitol Resource Institute) Today we have just one word for you: SIECUS.

Second only to the well-known colossus, Planned Parenthood, SIECUS is enemy number two in the battle to protect children from the insidious spread of the comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) agenda in public schools.

SIECUS stands for “Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States.” It has a very official title, purposely intended to sound like a U.S. government agency, but the name is as intentionally deceptive as their mission. In truth, SIECUS is a powerful lobbying organization that seeks to wield its influence to advance destructive ideas about sexuality in every school, every grade, every classroom, across the country.

The organization has recently rebranded itself, unashamedly announcing its new focus – “SIECUS: Sex Ed for Social Change.” Radical social change is its driving aim. Your child is its target.

SIECUS was an offshoot of the Institute for Sex Research at Indiana University, now known as the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender & Reproduction, founded in 1947 by renowned “sexologist” Alfred Kinsey. The Kinsey Institute created SIECUS to act as the Institute’s education and implementation arm.

Watch this short video to learn more about Alfred Kinsey, the man who pioneered radical sex education in schools. Kinsey is known to have used sexually deviant “research” methods, and now his perverted notions are making their way into your child’s classroom.

Until CSE is ejected from K-12 schools, Capitol Resource Institute urges you to opt your children out of all health and sexuality instruction – every child, every grade, every year. You can do this at any time, even mid-year.

Please help us get the word out that sex education in 2022 is not at all what Americans picture. Learning about sex and sexuality has changed dramatically, as SIECUS and other extreme groups use their influence to dictate what is taught. Even though many parents don’t believe inappropriate instruction about sex, sexuality, and gender identity is being forced on their child, it likely is or it will be very soon.

School boards work hand in hand with SIECUS, often adopting the organization’s “National Sexuality Education Standards” to guide them in developing sex education curriculum. Public schools have abandoned their mandate to equip the next generation with essential academic skills. Instead of teaching children how to think critically, students are trained what to believe, all in a concerted effort to create a more “progressive” society. The reality is that many K-12 teachers will not rest until every student accepts, affirms, and celebrates their radical sexual agenda.

Right to Life March and Rally is Jan. 22

(CDA Press) If an event’s importance is measured by the people involved, Connie Frank feels the annual Right to Life March and Rally is a significant one.

“It is an amazing come-together to get the march and rally done,” event coordinator Frank said Tuesday. “It all falls into place. It must be important, everybody comes together to do it.”

Representatives of multiple denominations and community members will attend the 2022 Coeur d’Alene Right to Life March and Rally. The rally will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 22 in the Skate Plaza parking lot at the northwest corner of U.S. Highway 95 and Dalton Avenue.

Since 1979, the Coeur d’Alene Right to Life March and Rally has served as a venue for locals to demonstrate alongside National March for Life counterparts across the country. Every year, pro-lifers gather on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. and march on Capitol Hill on the anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling, which legalized abortion in the U.S.  (Read More)

Freedom comes from God, not men: Understanding that is essential to the survival of the republic

(Standing For Freedom Center) During the decades of peace and prosperity following World War II, we Americans may have convinced ourselves that we had solved the problem of faction once and for all. But as we revisit Federalist No. 10 at a time when the violence of faction is no longer under control, our attention may be drawn to the sobering consequences of Madison’s belief that “the latent causes of faction are sown in the nature of man.”

Some may have succumbed to the magical thinking that a value-free pluralism could neutralize those consequences. Our generation can now read Madison clearly: “So strong is this propensity of mankind to fall into mutual animosities, that where no substantial occasion presents itself, the most frivolous and fanciful distinctions have been sufficient to kindle their unfriendly passions and excite their most violent conflicts.” Humans will fight about everything and nothing, and our age sees this sorry truth confirmed on a daily basis.  (Read More)

Parents Are Winning. That’s Why Far Left Is Turning Us Into Bogeymen.

(Daily Signal) Are “parental rights” some secret Bat Signal for right-wing evangelicals? The answer is yes, if you are writing for Salon. In a recent article, author Kathryn Joyce argued that “parental rights” is really the latest attempt of right-wing evangelicals to win elections.

Joyce has a long history of trying to pin blame on right-wing evangelicals. She has previously attacked international adoptions and large families only if they’re Christians (not any other faith, or lack thereof). So, it is not particularly surprising that now that parents from across the political spectrum are speaking up, she’s ready to blame it all on her favorite scapegoat: right-wing evangelicals.

Except it’s false: Parents from across every racial, demographic, ethnic, and political background are fighting against bureaucrats over who will decide basic questions regarding the education, upbringing, and care of their children.

It’s not just right-wing evangelicals. It’s parents from across the political, religious (and nonreligious), and demographic spectrums.  (Read More)

Covid is All about Money & Control

(Gem State Patriot) We have been talking about how the CDC has been fudging death figures from covid just like our Idaho Hospitals have been since this pandemic started. We now have the Director of the CDC coming out and saying publicly that 75% of deaths that occurred with people infected with covid but they had four comorbidities. This proved unequivocally that the CDC has not been honest with the American people. They weren’t dying of covid they were dying with covid and there was money to be gained by hospitals that put covid as a reason on their death certificate. The hospitals are taking in hundreds of millions of dollars from the government from non covid related deaths.

The CDC and NIH can no longer be trusted as they have been holding back important information and lying to the public for way to long about this virus and it is time to call them on these lies. The CDC/NIH have changed the definition of what a vaccine is three times and they have changed their policy on the importance of wearing masks for protection more times than I can remember. We should no longer believe that they are concerned about the wellbeing of the American public but only in covering their own asses and those of “Big Pharma.” They have been lying to us for two years not only about the vaccines and masks but the number of injuries and deaths caused by these experimental vaccines.  (Read More)

Your CRT Agenda? Don’t Leave Home Without It.

(PJ Media) Submitted for your consideration: American Express. It was revealed earlier that the company, long considered the hallmark of a favorable credit score, has allocated around $1 billion for social justice. But for some reason, AmEx doesn’t want to tell anyone what they plan to do. The Free Enterprise Project has filed a shareholder request to see exactly what the company had in mind, specifically in terms of its race-based employee training and to give shareholders a look at the same.

Interestingly, AmEx is a big enough company that it could have told the Free Enterprise Project to drop dead in a ditch. Instead, it petitioned the Feds to keep the whole thing under wraps. It stated quite clearly that the information is none of the shareholders’ business and asked the SEC to remove the request from its proxy statement, locking shareholders out of a vote on the move.  (Read More)

Women Facing Violence in Prison Deserve Better

(Family Research Council) Every social movement has advocates on each side of the issue offering critiques and ideas that could change the tide of public opinion. This is certainly true of the women’s movement in the United States. Regardless of your ideals and what side of the debate you take, it is undeniable that this movement has informed and educated our society on issues of trauma, domestic violence, and abuse.

[…]Another outcome of the women’s movement was the acknowledgment that there are real differences in victimization rates based on biological sex. While no abuse is acceptable, these differences should not be ignored. According to the CDC, roughly 44 percent of women have experienced a form of sexual violence in their lifetime, compared to an estimated 25 percent of men. Twenty-one percent of American women — 25.5 million — have experienced a completed or attempted rape, compared to 2.6 percent of men.

Despite these documented differences, we live in a time when some policymakers are seemingly indifferent to the current statistics and the social conditions that staged the battered women’s movement.  (Read More)

It’s Scary How Similar Western Countries’ Covid Responses Are To China’s

(The Federalist) Since the Covid-19 outbreak in Wuhan, China more than two years ago, the Chinese government has adopted “zero tolerance” Covid policies and frequently relied on harsh measures such as lockdowns and mandatory quarantines to try to stop the virus.

Most Chinese people chose to comply with the government’s orders and endure any negative consequences quietly. However, in recent days, even the Chinese people have reached a point of “enough is enough” upon learning that a pregnant woman lost her unborn child after a hospital refused to admit her due to its strict Covid-19 policy.

The tragedy took place in Xi’an, a city of 13 million residents. Xi’an has been under a strict lockdown since mid-December. Schools are closed, and most public services are suspended. No indoor dining or outdoor gatherings are permitted. Only one person from each household can go grocery shopping every two days.  (Read More)

Who Do We Serve? Another Example of Resistance To Government Overreach

(Bob Shillingstad) “King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide,[a] and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. Then the herald loudly proclaimed, “Nations and peoples of every language, this is what you are commanded to do:you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?”

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us[c] from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

—selections from Chapter 3 of the book of Daniel

In any major conflict between two established armies, or points of view, a bloody collision will eventually occur that proves to be decisive.  For Napoleon, the turning point was Waterloo. It was Stalingrad and Normandy for Hitler. It was Midway for the Japanese. Those were the bloody battlegrounds that largely determined, not only victory or defeat in a particular campaign, but the ultimate outcome of the war. It appears that we are engaged in that kind of struggle in the current Civil War of Values. The hottest and most dangerous confrontation to date and the battle that may well establish the eventual winner is being fought over child and adolescent sexuality and the policies relevant to it. Traditional teachings of the church, the truth of scripture, are contradicted daily in the classroom and libraries. The secular humanists have chosen child and adolescent sexuality as the battleground on which to press their advantage.  Who is there to put on their armor and step into the fight against government indoctrination?  You would think the churches and pastors would be there.

Surprisingly the Community Library Network in our area has sponsored a program with taxpayer funds called “The Rainbow Squad” for teens and allies aged 11 to 18.  This has been going on for about three years. On November 20 of last year there was a group of Christians from a local church protesting with signs that said  “Flee From Sexual Immorality” and “The Solution is Jesus Christ”.  The chair of the library network and employee of the library responded to the protest by saying, “I think we have a very radical, conservative element in our community, and there is an element that want people to live on certain way and not allow people free choice.”  No mention of that fact taxpayer dollars are funding this “choice”.  The coverage of this event from the local press was decidedly one sided.

Pastor Steven Hemming, to his credit, stood up and asked the paper to print his side of the issue which they did in a column he wrote on December 4th  He thanked the paper for putting the story on the front page to educate the populace about this program.  He stated, “now our community is aware of the atrocities that have taken place in our libraries. In other parts of our country the exploitation and sexualization of our children has come to a place where it is a losing battle with things like ‘drag queen story hour’ and other agendas to immorality a fashion campaign for our future generations and completely destroy the family unit that God intended to thrive and prosper with His blessing.”  All of his response is worth reading, it is an exceptional defense of the truth of God’s word.   He also asked the question, “Why did just the people that were in opposition of the message presented by the Christians have a voice in the article?”

He ended by reminding them of God’s love for all people and offer of salvation through Christ. He thanked the paper for printing his response and that he was praying for them. Not many people attacked are willing and ready to step into the fight like this.  Of course it didn’t end there. Other than a flurry of letters to the editor (almost all attacking Pastor Steve and Christians) there was one more positive article.  This longer article on January11th was an interview written by one of the staff writers giving Pastor Hemming’s remarkable testimony and message of the gospel.

Not to let sleeping dogs lie, on January 15th there was another guest column from the leader of the North Idaho Pride Alliance stepping up to remind everyone about the bigotry of the churches. She reminded us that “this spiritual disease (Christianity) manifests into many troubling incidents within our community.”  The vaccine is the “Rainbow Squad”!  And the mainstream media to distribute the message. It was silence from other faith leaders to combat this message from the pits of hell.

It is not often you get to watch a battle for truth play out before your eyes and see who stands up as a person of courage.  Who is willing to take on a government agency and the media. We watched this last fall in Loudon County, Virginia, but to me this story was just as captivating.

In a book written nearly 25 years ago called Children At Risk we are reminded of an incredible story that took place during the darkest days of WWII. In 1940, trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk, France, hundreds of thousands of British and French soldiers were near of the point of surrender or certain death as Hitler’s troops tightened the noose around them. As the battle raged, one British officer was able to send a message back to London.  He chose three simple words, “But if not..”.  The message was instantly recognized as a quotation from the book of Daniel where Nebuchadnezzar commands Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to worship the golden image or be thrust into the fiery furnace. The three biblical heroes answer defiantly,  “…..our God who we serve is able to deliver us……But if not, be it known unto thee, O King, that we will  not serve thy Gods…”  Would anyone receiving those three words today even know their significance?  Our children are not being taught the cohesion of God’s truth or those that stood for truth. Dr. Erwin Lutzer in his book, The Church In Babylon reminds us that throughout history idolatry justified and encouraged sexual permissiveness of every sort.  We are in Babylon today. Think back to Daniel and his three friends. They stand with a host of men and women and children who throughout our history have battled against cultural currents at great sacrifice.  God’s people have always been an island of righteousness in a sea of paganism.

The question I asked myself was this: Where were the church leaders coming alongside Pastor Hemming?  Who had the courage and conviction to say “but if not”?  Were all the rest busy marching out to the Plain of Dura with the thousands crowding the road to worship the statue?  Who is now the moral authority in our community? The media, libraries, schools and the courts?  Now is the time for courage.  (

The View from the Cheat Seats

(Family Research Council) For Joe Biden, the Atlanta speech checked all the boxes: a handful of out-of-context Bible verses (check), wild historical inaccuracies (check), gratuitous references to January 6th (check), the abandonment of another decades-long political view (check), and a general shaming of any American who thinks consensus and honesty ought to be part of our governing structure. Twelve months into this White House, the president’s rambling attack on democracy was the move of a desperate man at the head of a desperate party. It was also, as Rich Lowry put it succinctly, garbage.

Let’s set aside for a minute that the Democrats’ idea of subverting the Senate — and later, our entire election process — is a long shot. As Politico points out, it’s not just Senators Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) who are worried about letting a simple majority make all of the decisions anymore, but also a handful of other Democrats who wonder if blowing up their own institution just might come back to haunt them.  (Read More)

Equality vs. Equity: American Revolution vs. French Revolution

(American Minute) The American Revolution was preceded by a Great Awakening Christian Revival, but in contrast, France’s Revolution was preceded by the eroding of morals by lewd theater, brazen infidelity and Voltaire’s anti-Christian philosophy.

France had a stable monarchy from 486 AD until 1793, a little over a decade after King Louis XVI helped America gain independence.  French revolutionaries promised the people a dream of “liberty, equality, fraternity.” “Fraternity” was the French term for socialism.
In America, “Equality” meant equal treatment before the law; but in France “equality” meant equity–everyone having an equal amount of possessions. In France, if the fraternity — the socialist state — thought someone had too many possessions, it would use the power of the state to trample their individual liberty and take away their possessions.  (Read More)

Maryland Parents Shocked to Learn Children Were Given Race and Gender Scorecards to Calculate Privilege

(PJ Media) A mother in Carroll County, Md., reported that students, including her daughter, were recently given race and gender privilege scorecards to complete as part of their preparation for an upcoming reading assignment in English class…

When the daughter questioned her teacher on what privilege has to do with learning English, expressing concerns that the material seemed “racist towards whites” and that it “portrayed the police in a negative light,” the teacher reacted by saying it was actually good to have those feelings and that the purpose of the lesson is to foster uncomfortable conversations.

The girl’s mother sees things differently, calling such topics in the classroom “absolutely appalling.” She continued: “They’re teaching our kids to view and treat people based on their skin color, rather than treating each other as individuals. How this belongs in an English class is beyond me.”  (Read More)

The Woke Plans to Rebuild Notre Dame

(Breakpoint) The 2019 fire in Notre Dame reminded the world of the importance, the history, and the beauty of this magnificent structure. As we mourned the damage, many hoped the building would be repaired to remind the world of its original purpose. Recently, the cathedral’s reconstruction plans were announced and, unfortunately, the news isn’t good.

Notre Dame is rightly considered one of the most fantastic examples of French Gothic architecture. It took nearly 100 years to build, from 1153 to 1260, and incorporated several architectural innovations. For example, rib vaults and flying buttresses enabled the walls to be opened up for stained glass windows, including three beautiful, enormous rose windows.

The only way to fully understand Gothic architecture is by experiencing it. Despite its dark-sounding name, Gothic cathedrals were built for light. This was to symbolize divine illumination.  (Read More)

All Adrian Wanted Was A Family. Transgender Doctors Left Him Despairing And Sterile

(The Federalist) Three hundred emails and more than 50 phone calls in just eight weeks: either I had been targeted by a spam factory, or someone desperately needed my help.

It was a cry for help, from a young man who is too much like me. I fell for one of the biggest medical frauds in history in April 1983 when I agreed to what they call “sex change” surgery.

This young man was in his mid-20s and, in the spring of 2021, concluded that he had one great hope in life: to be a husband and father with a family of his own. For him — let’s call him Adrian — that conclusion was not easily reached. Sexually abused as a child, diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and assailed with relentless post-traumatic stress disorder, his life has been hard.  (Read More)
