When we started this ministry, we started it because God called us to be watchmen. Not watchmen for the powerful, not watchmen for the privileged few, not watchmen for the local central committee, not watchmen for anything other than God’s standard of Biblical Morality.
Watchmen aren’t called to speak truth to power; they are called to speak Truth. To shine the light of God’s standards everywhere.
There is no exception for the political party that the watchmen agrees with. There is no exception for pastors who are doing good things in one area. There is no exception for anyone, including ourselves, our close friends and certainly not for the compromised church.
Biblical Call for a Watchmen
Ezekiel 3:17 – 21 clearly states what the calling of a Watchmen is: To Speak for Righteousness! We must speak righteousness in these days. For they are certainly getting dark. Men seek power at any cost and the light on a hill that is America is fading. Not because of external events, but because we have chosen to abandon our reliance upon Him who created us.
Our eyes are darkened; we slumber instead of standing guard over our own salvation. The Word of God has become a form of entertainment instead of a calling on each our lives. Not only have wolves come in among the flock, but many times the wolves are “leading” the flock. Multi-millionaire “pastors” and denominations with billions in the bank prey upon the people of God. There is an excellent series called The Religion Business that is well worth your time. The sad part is that this is only possible because people aren’t looking at what the Bible Standard says a pastor should be.
The Exultation of Idols in our society
Our hearts are idol factories. We create them as instinctively as breathing. Politics, Sports, Social Media, Technology, Religion and Hollywood are all idols to many. The real list is far too long and there is no way to even comprehend the sheer number of idols that we create. The simple way to identify an idol is: Is it more important than your relationship with Jesus Christ?
For some, Politics as blood-sport
Politics in America has become a form of barbarism. We say and do some of the most horrific things “to the other side.” The assassination of Charlie Kirk should have been a wake-up call, yet in less than two weeks the political climate became darker.
In North Idaho there is a video podcast being broadcast that regularly espouses racist and antisemitic views. One of the hosts of that podcast, has been a part of the local republican party and even was endorsed to run for school board by them. Another host of that podcast speaks of wanting a homogeneous white country. As evidenced in their podcast, they are Nick Fuentes supporters. While republicans have correctly decried all of the times that Trump has been compared to Hitler. On social media, a local republican blogger turned around and compared a candidate that they oppose to Hitler claiming that he gave a nazi salute by taking a photo out of context. This blogger has been successfully sued for defamation for what seems like an edited video.
Political junkies and minions of the local republican political party spend hours on social media engaging in negative attacks against candidates that they oppose. In many cases, mindlessly repeating the words of others.
This election in Kootenai County has been the most disgustingly combative that we have seen. Instead of talking to each other, people are now shouting past one another to see who can “destroy” the opposing candidate. Rather than focusing on their candidates’ strengths, they focus on attacking. The desperate need to win elections reveals the condition of their own idolatrous hearts. “These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.” – Proverbs 6:16 – 19.
A Watchmen is not Neutral, they are always on God’s side
We will continue to call out the lies of the left, of the right, of candidates, of the political parties, of their sycophants, and of the few pastors that mindlessly support them.
So, create your political golden image, build it high and mighty. Just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; we will not bow down to your idol. “But let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” – Daniel 3:18
We will continue to stand for God, His Word, and His Righteousness.
