The Gem State Heist Part 3: A Warning to Idaho Conservatives

(Greg Pruett) If we are going to keep Idaho from turning into the next liberal stomping ground, then we must continue educating ourselves on what happened in other states. Idaho’s conservatives can’t afford to sit back and do nothing as liberals in both parties try to keep us from taking on this fight against the leftists.

Remember back in 2012 when Mitt Romney was running against Barak Obama? Remember how the liberals painted Mitt Romney as a “far-right” extremist?

Who in their right mind thinks Mitt Romney is a real conservative in the Republican Party? He may be conservative as a Democrat but he isn’t a “hard-liner” in the Republican Party.

The RINOs are already promising to help take out conservatives during the 2022 elections here in Idaho. If conservatives are removed, look for the liberals to then turn their sites on the moderate wing of the party. We’ll get to more specific examples in just a moment.  (Read More)

How Social Media’s Political Rage Machine Especially Hurts College Students

(The Federalist) Politics has a necessary, proper role in our society. The daily decisions and workings of the government affect how we live and the way our country progresses. The presence and discussion of this topic on social media, however, have led to the average college student’s overconsumption of politics — with physical and emotional consequences.

Social media has transformed into a hive of political news. Additionally, as noted by Ethan Stoneman, assistant professor of rhetoric and public address at Hillsdale College, the addictive nature of social media transforms it into a hotspot for political debate and discussion.

In “The Social Dilemma,” a documentary about the problems with social media, Edward Tufte, a statistician and professor at Yale University, compared the addictiveness of social media to that of drugs. “There are only two industries that call their customers ‘users’: illegal drugs and software,” Tufte observes.  (Read More)

Connecticut removes religious exemptions for all students as battle over vaccine requirements continues

(Standing For Freedom Center) Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont signed the bill into law last week and tweeted, “Proud to sign this bill into law to protect as many of our school children as possible from infectious diseases as we can.”

Connecticut joins California, New York, West Virginia, Mississippi, and Maine in allowing no religious exemption for vaccines.

Two organizations opposing the legislation, We The Patriots USA, Inc., and The CT Freedom Alliance, LLC, said they would file suit against the state over the law.

Norm Pattis, an attorney representing the two groups, said, “The notion that somehow the state government gets the right to cram its version of virtue down the throats of every citizen in this state is and ought to be offensive to every Connecticut resident.” He said it was “far more chilling” for the state to tell a parent how to raise their child than to expose other children to a “nominal risk” of infection.  (Read More)

Governor Little Signs The Heartbeat Bill. Will it ban abortions in Idaho?

(Abolish Abortion Idaho) All over the news in Idaho this week was the passage of the Idaho Heartbeat Abortion Bill. After reading the media coverage and the press release from the lobbyist organization that pushed the bill, we would all think that most abortions were banned in Idaho!

But were they? The short answer is No. Not a single abortion is banned with the passage of this bill. Last week 29 children were killed in Idaho in abortions, and for every week for the next year until the next Idaho legislative session in 2022 and beyond, 29 more children will still be killed WEEKLY in Idaho in legal abortions.

But, why all the hype for the heartbeat bill then? How can a bill that passed the Idaho House and the Idaho Senate and got signed by the governor and got publicity as an abortion ban NOT actually stop a single abortion?  (Read More)

Conservatives, Stop Complaining About Blue State Exodus and Start Getting Involved in Local Politics

(RedState) I’ve been keeping a running tally of families in my area who have fled the disaster that has become California for greener pastures over the last year. So far I’m up to twelve. Twelve families who represent dozens of human beings, just gone. To a person they left because of school closures. To a person they had not been thinking about moving before COVID sparked a draconian power-grab in Sacramento. And those are only the people I know personally. These days everyone here in California knows multiple people who have picked up and left the state on a whim in the last year. They seek the small things we always took for granted – school, work, mobility. They seek freedom.

Naturally, those seeking a freer life are headed to successful red states that have managed to keep the growth of government bloat as slow as possible and thus the cost of living as low as possible. Naturally, many fleeing their unbearable home states don’t make the connection between their voting habits and their quality of life. Not all, but many.

This fact of blue-state escapees gives red-staters cause to complain about how the flood of freedom-seekers is beginning to shift the political balance of their neighborhoods and municipalities.  (Read More)

Bill and Melinda Gates–A Sign of the Times

(Faith & Freedom) Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and his wife of 27 years, Melinda Gates, said Monday they have decided to end their marriage.

How many families do you know, who are not famous like the Gates or Jeff Bezos, have collapsed recently?

The American family is in a state of crisis. Few disagree.

Studies show that marriage rates are cratering, birth rates are in a tailspin, while experts say this course is unsustainable.

Now President Biden has released his “American Families Plan”—his $1.8 trillion answer to the family crisis in America—a plan for the government to replace the “family.”  (Read More)

Teachers, parents, and kids need Idaho lawmakers to stop public school indoctrination

(Idaho Freedom Foundation) Idaho education officials are being dishonest when they say there’s no evidence of leftist indoctrination in our public schools and universities. They’re also being dishonest when they claim that the newly-signed House Bill 377 prevents critical race theory from being taught.

The legislation is certainly helpful. It says that students can no longer be compelled to “personally affirm, adopt, or adhere” to a doctrine of hate that is embodied in critical race theory. Despite media reports to the contrary, the new law does not ban teaching CRT, nor does it ban teachers from being trained in how to treat some students as victims of systemic racism.

As the Idaho Freedom Foundation’s Anna K. Miller discovered, so-called “culturally responsive teaching” is baked into Idaho’s rules for teacher certification.  (Read More)

Arsonist Sets Fire to Pro-Life Pregnancy Center, Causing $250,000 Damage

(LifeNews) A pro-life pregnancy center was intentionally set on fire Monday in Peoria, Illinois, causing at least a quarter of a million dollars in damage, according to local fire authorities.

The Journal Star reports the Peoria Fire Department determined that the fire at the Women’s Care Center in Peoria was intentionally set early Monday morning.

Fire authorities estimated the damage at about $250,000. They said the state fire marshal and the Peoria Police Department also are involved in investigating the arson.

Christine Dennis, a founder and board member of the pregnancy center, said the fire also destroyed diapers, clothes and other supplies that they provide for free to mothers and babies.  (Read More)

Idaho Senate Passes Bill, Could Be 1st State Banning Critical Race Theory In Schools

(Daily Wire) On Monday, Idaho’s State Senate passed a bill already passed by the state House that would ban the teaching of critical race theory in schools. HB 377, which will now be sent to GOP Governor Brad Little for his signature, states:

No public institution of higher education, school district, or public school, including a public charter school, shall direct or otherwise compel students to personally affirm, adopt, or adhere to any of the following tenets: That any sex, race, ethnicity, religion, color, or national origin is inherently superior or inferior; That individuals should be adversely treated on the basis of their sex, race, ethnicity, religion, color, or national origin; or that individuals, by virtue of sex, race, ethnicity, religion, color, or national origin, are inherently responsible for actions committed in the past by other members of the same sex, race, ethnicity, religion, color, or national origin.  (Read More)

Top 10 Sickening Details About How Federal Employees Trafficked Baby Body Parts

(The Federalist) In what should have been a national headline, the exposure of the U.S. government’s involvement in trafficking aborted baby bodies is now even more newsworthy following Friday’s announcement from the White House. At President Biden’s direction, the Department of Health and Human Services reversed the Trump administration’s policy protecting preborn Americans from the callous dehumanization of organ harvesting and further desecration of their bodies in research disguised as “science.”

This sickening decision now gives license to our “best and brightest” government researchers and agencies, those in charge of steering the country towards medical breakthroughs and scientific progress, to use the skin, brains, and eyeballs of children in research that affects all of us and is funded by our money.  (Read More)

Homeschooling is on the upswing — and predicted to keep rising post-pandemic

(Standing For Freedom Center) Homeschoolers and their advocates are somewhat infamous for failing to hide their desire to see significantly more American school-aged children join their ranks. However, they likely didn’t expect so many children would find themselves suddenly stuck at home under the strangest of circumstances in 2020.

Indeed, speculation began instantly among those advocates of home or alternative education on whether the pandemic would provide the opportunity for parents to reconsider the mode of schooling that best catered to the needs of their children.

It appears that this has proven to be true in many cases, according to homeschool curricula industry insiders, who report a healthy growth in interest they expect will continue even as schools begin to re-open.  (Read More)

Judicial Watch: Documents Show CA State Officials Coordinated with Big Tech to Censor Americans’ Election Posts

(Judicial Watch) Judicial Watch announced today that it received 540 pages and a supplemental four pages of documents from the office of the Secretary of State of California revealing how state officials pressured social media companies (Twitter, Facebook, Google (YouTube)) to censor posts about the 2020 election. Included in these documents were “misinformation briefings” emails that were compiled by communications firm SKDK, that lists Biden for President as their top client of 2020. The documents show how the state agency successfully pressured YouTube to censor a Judicial Watch video concerning the vote by mail and a Judicial Watch lawsuit settlement about California voter roll clean up.

The records were obtained in response to Judicial Watch’s California Public Records Act (CPRA) requests to the Office of the California Secretary of State for records related to the Office of Election Cybersecurity’s database of social media posts; communications with social media companies; and other social media related records regarding the 2020 elections.  (Read More)

The Circular Logic of Systemic Racism

(Creators) Last week, ex-police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. The evidence on the murder charges was weak; the evidence on manslaughter was significantly stronger. Still, the jury took only 10 hours and zero questions to come to its conclusion: guilty on all counts.

In and of itself, the Chauvin case never should have been a national news story. After all, an average of three suspects are shot by police every day in the United States, and thousands of homicides that have nothing whatsoever to do with the police take place in the United States every year. Theoretically, national news stories should be indicative of profound national problems, not man-bites-dog statistical rarities.  (Read More)

Idaho Gov Brad Little Signs Bill Banning Abortions When Unborn Baby’s Heart Starts Beating

(LifeNews) Idaho Governor Brad Little signed into law a pro-life bill today to protect unborn babies from abortion once their heartbeats are detectable.

Sponsored by state Sen. Patti Anne Lodge, R-Caldwell, and Rep. Steven Harris, R-Meridian, the bill would prohibit abortions once an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable, about six weeks of pregnancy. Exceptions would be allowed for rape, incest or threats to the mother’s life.

“Idaho is a state that values the most innocent of all lives – the lives of babies. We should never relent in our efforts to protect the lives of the preborn,” Little said

The governor added: “Hundreds and hundreds of babies lose their lives every year in Idaho due to abortion, an absolute tragedy.”  (Read More)

What are they hiding? Leftist early ed group hid woke material shortly after vote on $6 million federal grant

(Idaho Freedom Foundation) For the first time ever, Idaho Legislators called out the Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children (IDAEYC) for attempting to traffic radical and divisive theories into homes, communities, and schools. The House also killed a bill that would’ve given IDAEYC a $6 million federal grant.

In response, the IDAEYC has repeatedly denied the accusation that they are attempting to indoctrinate and propagandize children and removed questionable links from its website. The truth is that IDAEYC has been infiltrating critical theory and the ideology of social justice into Idaho for many years.

The distortion begins in the IDAEYC’s Professional Development Institute page, where a link on anti-bias education was removed after the House vote.   (Read More)

School Principal Privately Admits What ‘Anti-racist’ Curriculum Is Doing to White Kids

(Townhall) The head of an elite private school in New York City privately admitted to a teacher that the institution is “demonizing white people for being born.”

The call between math teacher Paul Rossi, who was later relieved of his duties after publicly criticizing the school’s anti-racist orthodoxy, and George Davidson, head of Grace Church School, took place on March 2. The two discussed wokeness at the school and how it’s affecting white students.

The conversation was posted online by the civil rights organization Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism. FAIR is supporting Rossi, who was “relieved of his teaching duties” for his public criticism of the school on former New York Times editor Bari Weiss’s Substack.  (Read More)

Republicans Pop off at Coca-Cola

(FRC) “If politics isn’t your business,” Steve Tobak used to say, “keep your business out of politics!” That’s a message Republicans are embracing a month into the Georgia election law fallout. Companies that raced into the fray, like Coca-Cola’s CEO James Quincey, are finding out the hard way that getting involved in local issues isn’t exactly a way to sell more soda. According to new polling, a majority of conservatives are thinking twice about quenching their thirst with a business that tried to quench America’s ballot integrity.

Fifty-two percent of GOP voters, like myself, say they’re less likely to buy Coke products now, Rasmussen Reports announced last week, spelling uneasy times ahead for one of the country’s most well-known brands.  (Read More)

Conservatives and non-woke liberals must draw a line in the sand against racialized indoctrination.

(The American Mind) In September 2020, then-President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning federal agencies and contractors from conducting training sessions based on critical race theory. Specifically, the order banned “race or sex stereotyping,” “race or sex scapegoating,” and teaching that “an individual’s moral character is necessarily determined by his or her race or sex.” In short, the executive order made sure that all training sessions complied with the basic framework of the Civil Rights Act of 1964: there is no place for racism in the federal government.

In a healthy society, this would be uncontroversial. After all, until just recently, Americans of all political backgrounds seemed to agree that racial stereotyping, scapegoating, and harassment are unacceptable, especially in the workplace.  (Read More)

Oklahoma Gov Kevin Stitt Signs Bill Banning Abortions When Unborn Baby’s Heart Begins Beating

(LifeNews) Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt today signed a bill into law that that would ban abortions once an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable.

Last Tuesday, the state Senate passed the heartbeat bill and two other pro-life measures and today Stitt signed them into law.

I’m keeping my promise to sign all pro-life legislation. We now have three more laws protecting the lives of the unborn! HB 2441, HB 1904, and HB 1102,” he said in a message on twitter along with photos of him signing the bills.

Sponsored by state Sen. Julie Daniels, R-Bartlesville, House Bill 2441 would require abortionists to check for the unborn baby’s heartbeat and prohibit the abortion if the heartbeat is detected. Typically, that occurs about six weeks of pregnancy.  (Read More)

Meridian Middle School newsletter urges teachers to see skin color and check privilege

(Idaho Freedom Foundation) A newsletter made available to teachers and staff at Meridian Middle School encourages readers to engage in “culturally relevant teaching,” a nice-sounding phrase that masks what the document actually seeks.

The document, entitled “Stall Seat Journal” because it’s available in bathroom stalls at Meridian Middle School, encourages educators to see students’ skin color, a key tenet of critical race theory, which is a destructive and harmful ideology that’s creeping into schools nationwide.

The document, forwarded to the Idaho Freedom Foundation, tells educators, “Colorblindness is a myth, and one that denies our students validation of their whole person.”

The newsletter, through deceptive gentleness, condemns those who seek to ignore skin color by suggesting that doing so is a form of white supremacy. “It also perpetuates the idea that ‘white’ is the norm and everything else is not. We should see the differences that make our students who they are, and make sure that each person’s experience is celebrated.”  (Read More)

Social Justice

(Gem State News) Social Justice is a term that has its’ origins deeply embedded in Western Judeo-Christian philosophy and theology. Plato, Aristotle, Jesus of Nazareth, St. Paul, the early Church Fathers Augustine and Aquinas taught in detail concepts of social justice based on Classical Philosophy and the Biblical principle of “do unto others as you would have others do unto you,” and “love God and love your neighbor”. Concepts of caring for those living on the margin are deeply incorporated into the Western tradition. In our own Constitution Thomas Jefferson penned “all men are created equal and they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights” The rights he was talking about were specifically Natural Rights that are given by God to all people—The right to life, liberty and property. There are other types of rights such as legal rights, social rights and moral rights—all considered to be secondary and dependent on Natural Law Rights.

The original meaning of “social justice” has been usurped and expropriated from its’ original meaning formulated in the Protestant and Catholic Churches, by Progressive—Liberal—Marxists who are using it only as a means to their own end (power). They say they care but like those that have come before them, if they ever get the power they seek the only ones they will care for will be themselves.  (Read More)

As the FDA Gets Caught Secretly Buying Fetal Tissue for Use in Medical Experiments, Biden Lifts Trump’s Ban on the Practice

(Standing For Freedom Center) The 575-page report by Judicial Watch provides evidence that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) purchased “fresh” aborted baby tissue and body parts from Advanced Bioscience Resources (ABR) for the purposes of producing “humanized mice.” The humanized mice contain fetal remains and organs and humanized immune systems that are then used in medical testing.

The report contains email discussions between the FDA and ABR regarding procuring fetal tissue. One FDA scientist wrote, “It is strongly preferred to have a male fetus if at all possible … [but] undetermined sex or female is better than no tissue.” When scientists requested to have a check on the sex of “Liver #4505,” an ABR employee responded, “The techs were not able to identify the gender. We only can check external genitalia and if it’s not there … due to the nature of the termination procedure … we have no way of telling.”

The “nature of the termination procedure” translates to “the abortion procedure requires the dismemberment of a human being which is so gruesome that not all parts of the baby were present.”  (Read More)

U.S. Commission Calls out World’s Worst Religious Freedom Violators

(FRC) The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) released its annual report Wednesday, providing an overview of the world’s top violators of religious freedom. The dire status of religious freedom around the globe is a call to action for the Biden administration to prioritize religious freedom in its foreign policy.

Numbers help tell the story of global religious freedom violations. An estimated 50,000 Christians remain in bondage in North Korean prison camps. Over 2500 Yazidi women and girls are still missing following ISIS’ genocide. And in 2020, 15 houses of worship were attacked in Nigeria.

Over the past year, many countries used the COVID-19 pandemic as a pretext to discriminate against religious groups, including discriminating against religious minorities seeking COVID relief aid.  (Read More)

10 Huge Corporations Working To Make Big Bucks From Forcing Americans Into Vaccine Passports

(The Federalist) States have been pushing back on the idea of “vaccine passports” for people to have to prove they have received the COVID-19 vaccine to do anything outside their homes. Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed an executive order on April 2 banning the passports in his state, as did Gov. Greg Abbott in Texas soon after — with dozens of other states advancing legislation.

Although skepticism about instituting private surveillance of the population is increasing by the day, the government is pushing vaccine passports in cahoots with private companies. Here are just some of the big companies that are showing themselves willing to act as a shadow government to privately force on Americans a regime they did not consent to through representative, legitimate government.  (Read More)

Backlash Intensifies Against Leftist “Cancel Culture”

(Redoubt News) Last week, we talked about the backlash against “cancel culture” that’s starting to happen around the country, as millions of Americans have finally just had enough. Today, I have more good news on that front, concerning the most dangerous manifestation of this poison, in the schools.

First, let’s all bow in homage to Parent Of The Year Andrew Gutmann. Mr. Gutmann is the parent of a 7th grader who until very recently attended an elite private all-girls’ school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, tuition –- brace yourself –- $54,000 a year. This school, Brearley, is so “woke” that families who send their kids there have to take an “anti-racism” pledge. Bari Weiss on Substack has a great write-up on this story.

Weiss starts with a reference to another story we’ve brought you, about a math teacher from another private Manhattan school, Grace Church High School, who can’t stand by watching his students being indoctrinated with the toxin of “anti-racism” –- Critical Race Theory –- as it’s being taught there.  (Read More)
